Cytochrome P450 1A1
The CYP1A1 gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 enzymes are involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. The mature protein is found at the endoplasmic reticulum.
